Being a single mother creating a single parent family
Today more and more women decide to be single mothers and create a single parent family.
More and more women are deciding to become single mothers. They do not see the need to share life with a partner or to marry in order to raise their children. Today there are many ways for a woman to become a mother, such as in vitro fertilization, artificial insemination, adoption, etc.
Until not long ago, for a woman to be single as a mature woman, it was something strange, as if it were something unusual, like a social disorder. Fortunately, this is changing and women increasingly feel more free to have a full life without having to share it with a married couple. More and more people want to start a family, they alone with their children.

A SURVEY MAKES IT CLEAR
There was a survey by the Pew Research Center that found that people have less and less belief in marriage even though the family remains a high priority in society. When respondents were asked which of the following statements was closest to their own views, 46% of adults chose: ‘Society is better if people prioritize marriage and having children’, while more 50% chose: ‘Society is just as good if people have other priorities besides marriage and children.’
If, in addition, the age is limited between 18 and 29, the number of people who believe that society is better when people have other priorities than marriage and children, shoots up to 67%.
MARRIAGE AND PARENTHOOD SEEM NOT A PRIORITY
More and more people think that having children and getting married is not a priority in becoming adults. Building a career and having a good economy is far more important to most people.
Therefore, even though the negative comment about single mothers is still prevalent, the choice to give up the marriage and have a child as a single mother is not strange or harmful. In fact, it might be the smartest option. This is reflected in the percentage of single and elderly mothers who, in recent years, have increased their motherhood while being single.
In the United States, there was a 48% increase in births to unmarried women between the ages of 35 and 39, and a 29% increase in women between the ages of 40 and 44. Most of these women are supposed to be single mothers because they have chosen to be so. Women decide to be mothers despite not having a partner .
Although it is true that society increasingly supports this option, being a single mother or father continues to have difficulties because there are many concerns that they must face alone. On the other hand, there are also other benefits of having children when they are older that cannot be ignored: better economic position, possibility of having a stable job, greater maturity and experience, etc.
Studies show that the children of older mothers also had fewer behavioral, social and emotional problems than the children of younger mothers. Other studies showed that older mothers lived longer and had taller, smarter children. And those aren’t the only benefits of being a single mom not so young.
A study comparing the well-being of children who grew up in a single-mother household by choice and that of heterosexual families with two parents found no difference in the relationship between parents and children or the development of the child. The key difference between a child who had behavioral problems in adolescence and one who did not was the presence of a reference figure (father or mother) who was loving, with good positive discipline, and flexible in parenting. The research has shown that one or both parents in a household did not matter as much as the quality of family relationships, regardless of the number of parents.
