8 character traits to instill in children
These character traits do not come out innately … You have to work on them in parenting to make sure they are internalized.
Raising children is the most important thing you will do in your life, and it is not easy at all. Brothers who fight, rules that are not followed, rebellious attitudes … in reality, day to day it is possible that it makes you lose sight of the objectives that you have to work on daily. It is important to keep in mind what the purposes of raising your children are: that they become good people and be successful adults in the future. Independent people and absolutely capable of taking care of themselves.

1. INDEPENDENCE
You want each of your children to have the ability and confidence to live an independent life, make their own decisions based on their values, and not feel limited by fears or insecurities. Having to remember this when it would be easier to “fix” their problems than to let them solve them is not easy … but it is necessary.
2. ASSESS THE RISK REASONABLY
Risk management is an important part of everyday life for adults. So whether it’s climbing trees or jumping on the playground, you have to fight your helicopter mom or dad instincts every day in the hope that by allowing your kids to automatically assess their risks (based on age, of course ) you’ll be teaching them a skill that will last a lifetime. These skills will inform them in the future when it comes to making decisions regarding important things like starting a business, running a big one of your own, investing money in property, etc.
3. PRACTICE SELF-DISCIPLINE
Children must learn to be self-disciplined and know what to do and how to do it correctly in each specific situation. Self-discipline is not a static character trait that exists or does not exist in a person … it is a daily choice regarding actions and it is necessary to have willpower and consistency.
4. BE A GOOD LEADER
Being a leader is not just a matter of command. To lead well, you have to set an example and do things first before others. They need to know that being a leader without followers is useless … That is why it is vitally important to know when to lead and when to follow (and when not). Children must recognize the difference between doing things right or not doing them right. They should learn the value of hard work and appreciate the hard work of others.
5. COPE WITH DISCOURAGEMENT, DISAPPOINTMENT, AND FAILURE
Maybe no one taught you this and you really had a hard time … Probably. But now your children have the opportunity for you to guide them on the right path. Accepting failure as a learning opportunity is necessary for them to accept defeats and learn from mistakes … it is the key to future success !
6. BE A GREAT READER
Reading teaches empathy by allowing us to live a world of experiences that you could never have experienced without imagination. Children can love reading as long as it is not an imposition and it is their own choice to be able to read in their favorite reading corner. Remember that to achieve this, you must set an example.
7. LEARNING AS CONTINUOUS LEARNING
Life is a continuous learning and this children must assimilate. You don’t just learn at school, you learn every second of your life! Education is essential in life, but it is not only necessary to get good grades in school … any area of life is great for learning new things!
8. STRIVE
Achieving goals is not the only thing that matters in life, what really matters is above all … strive! Effort and determination are the foundations of success, regardless of the goal you want to achieve. If there is effort , the good results will come by themselves. Children should know the value of hard work, discipline themselves to work hard, and appreciate the hard work of others.
