The Day of the Father is one of those days that, whenever possible, should enjoy family and if possible in the privacy of the home. There are many people, especially if your family nucleus is large, who decide to take advantage of that day to enjoy a meal out . Doing it at home can end up being exhausting due to the amount of work involved.
However, if the family unit is small, there is nothing like celebrating Father’s Day at home, more specifically in the kitchen . In previous articles we already told you that one of the ways to celebrate this holiday is by enjoying a special meal with the father, either preparing it together or making it a surprise and run by the children.
We will focus on this second alternative: preparing the ideal menu for Father’s Day . It is clear that you will like any food that has been cooked by your children with all your love, but there is a wide variety of gastronomic proposals from which to choose. Of course, it must be taken into account that the kitchen is not a space for children, so when preparing the dish they must have the supervision of an adult .
IN THE KITCHEN CHILDREN CAN NEVER BE WITHOUT AN ADULT
PREPARE YOUR FAVORITE DISH
When it comes to planning which menu to prepare, you don’t need to get too complicated either. The first thing is to think about what is the parent’s favorite dish , because it is a good proposal for Father’s Day. If your tastes are not too refined and / or complicated, surely with the help of another adult you can prepare the dish. Even then it can help to do so.
A child does not have enough skills to prepare a paella, for example, but if he chooses this dish he can help by adding the rice, washing and peeling the vegetables or choosing the ingredients.
There is another class of proposals that are available to minors . A clear example is spaghetti with meatballs. The child can cook the pasta and control the time, but will also have fun creating the meatballs and kneading the minced meat.
Homemade burgers? They are even easier and carry less danger . The child can crush the hamburgers and give them to an adult to fry. If someone cuts the rest of the ingredients, the little one will be able to build the hamburgers in a totally personalized way.
IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A VERY ELABORATE MENU, THE CHILD WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE MORE EASILY IN COOKING SIMPLE DISHES
A DESSERT ALWAYS TRIUMPHS
Dessert is something that cannot be missing from the menu of any celebration , especially if the little ones in the house are going to participate in its preparation. There are many sweet recipes in which they can collaborate. They will have a great time kneading, stirring and playing with the dough. Remember that to make any dessert dish they will need the supervision of an adult to help them with the mixer or the oven.
Making cupcakes , a cake, a flan or a chocolate fondeau are some of the proposals in which they can participate . They will be in charge of mixing the ingredients, choosing the particular flavor of the dish and decorating it, which will give that personal touch to the food that will make everyone love the dessert chosen for Father’s Day.
DECORATE THE TABLE
The success of the Father’s Day meal does not depend solely on the menu that is prepared or how delicious the chosen dishes are. What matters is the care and detail put into work , so we must not forget about other aspects that go beyond gastronomy.
The table has to be decorated , a task that a child can do without any danger . You can arrange a nice tablecloth, matching napkins, choose the plates and cutlery to be used and arrange everything carefully and according to your taste.
You can also make personalized cards with the diners’ names and the menu they will enjoy, and place candles and decorations around the table . Do not forget to leave a camera (or a smartphone) nearby to immortalize the meal of Father’s Day.
