Nemo and his travel companions will teach the smallest of the house a myriad of values, how to accept the different as he is.
‘ Finding Nemo ‘ is an entertaining movie for the whole family and a way to teach values to the little ones while having fun. Disney – Pixar released this film in 2003, which to this day continues to be one of the most popular animated titles for parents and children, and no matter how many times it has been seen, it continues to thrill like the first time .
The film has parallels with some well-known children’s stories . Nemo’s disobedience reminds us at the beginning of the film to that of Little Red Riding Hood when he meets the wolf for not doing what he is told. How confident is sometimes the protagonist of this film has parallels with Pinocchio , when he goes with the puppeteers who end up abusing him.

PLOT FROM ‘FINDING NEMO’
Marlin is a very demanding clownfish and widowed father who is somewhat obsessed with controlling his son, Nemo, who has something that makes him different. As a result of a barracuda attack, which killed his mother and siblings, he has a stunted fin. The little boy usually disobeys his father and on the first day of school, despite his warnings, he decides to ignore his advice . In addition, in class, far from parental protection, he has received ridicule for his minor disability .
Instead of returning from school by the safest route, he decides to investigate on his own in the open sea, an area unknown to him and little recommended for an inexperienced and young fish. Bold and innocent make Nemo a reflection of what can happen when a child does not follow the advice given by their parents . The adventures happen again and again while he lives an adventure that will not be as interesting as he himself would have imagined and that sometimes turns into a nightmare .
Nemo is captured by a diver and ends up decorating a Sydney dentist’s fish tank . He adjusts to his new life, even though he doesn’t like it; He has made new friends, but he misses the freedom to live at sea. When he is about to give up and does not see a chance to return home, he learns that there is a fish that has traveled the ocean to find his son. That and the support of his new family allow him to regain the hope of returning home.
Marlin also lives his own adventure while he is looking for Nemo and has numerous companions on the trip, such as the forgetful Dory, the shark Bruce or the turtle Crush . His effort is such that a legend is created around his odyssey. Along the way, he meets new friends and breaks myths about the stereotypes of some inhabitants who live under the sea. Not all sharks yearn to sink their teeth into every fish that comes their way, there are some that may be vegetarian.

VALUES TO INSTILL IN THE LITTLE ONES
In little more than an hour and a half of film, there are numerous examples that can be found of the importance of friendship , family , courage or commitment . Collaboration, tolerance, solidarity, teamwork or perseverance are other ingredients that allow Nemo and Marlin to meet again.
Accepting the different and fighting because those differences are minor is probably one of the values that stand out the most in this Disney – Pixar film. Nemo has a disability in his fin and there is a shark who wants to be different (vegetarian) although he is afraid to do it. The film deals with these situations ‘above’ and with a happy ending, so once the projection is over it is interesting to discuss them with the children and ask them what they would do in that situation and if they know of cases in which someone is discriminated against for being different.
Finding Nemo begins with the death of the protagonist’s mother and siblings, a fact that can be difficult for the youngest members of the household to understand . Placing yourself at the beginning does not generate uneasiness in them, because they will barely remember them by the end of the film.
Do not forget that Finding Nemo is an underwater adventure, in which humans do not usually do well. It is a perfect excuse to instill in the little ones the importance of caring for animals . It also serves to study different marine species in depth with them .
